Kindness begins where necessity ends.” (Amor Towles, “The Lincoln Highway”)
The Women’s Prayer Group is inviting everyone to join our band of “Kindness Warriors” during this Lenten Season. Inspired by many examples of kind actions we’ve observed, and more recently, from our reading of Matthew Kelly’s book, “Holy Moments”, we have committed to take on Kelly’s challenge to do our part to make the community around us a kinder, gentler place.
We are committing to at least one small gesture of kindness each day. These random acts of kindness can be very simple, yet they have a tremendous ripple effect. You will be surprised at how much joy it will bring you with VERY little effort on your part!
Our band of Kindness Warriors have decided to do something about the negativity, social isolation and polarization that are so prevalent in our current times. We will be spreading goodwill: smiling at a stranger on the street, praying for someone in need, thanking someone who helps us, giving a family member or coworker our complete attention. The sky is the limit on these simple actions!
Please commit to being a Kindness Warrior by doing one small act of kindness every day for the next six weeks. SPREAD SOME HOLY MOMENTS!
